Joseph Beane of Las Vegas was paid a surprise visit on Tuesday, August 31st by the Publishers Clearing House Prize Patrol who named him the winner of the company’s latest SuperPrize award of $1,000,000.00.
Mr. Beane learned two days prior to the award that he had won a $1,000 prize in the sweepstakes and was on a “short list” to win “the big one.” But he was unprepared for the Prize Patrol’s arrival — with a “Big Check” and bouquets of roses and balloons.
His name was announced as the prizewinner in a national Publishers Clearing House commercial on Tuesday, 8/31/10, during the NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams. The unannounced, videotaped surprise notification of the winner is a Publishers Clearing House tradition and a fixture of the company’s TV ad campaigns.
