British Columbia Lottery Corporation: Surrey Financial Analyst Wins Maxmillion Jackpot

RICHMOND, BRITISH COLUMBIA–(Marketwire – July 29, 2010) – A Financial Analyst from Surrey can now add “winning the lottery” to his portfolio.

Randy Atwal, who works for the federal government, today claimed a $1 Million MAXMILLION prize, after the ticket he purchased for the July 23 LOTTO MAX draw matched 7/7 numbers.

The 36-year-old says he’ll pay off his house and “stick the rest in the bank”.

“It’s a nice feeling to be relatively young and mortgage free,” said Atwal, who is married with two young children. “It’s also reassuring to know my kids won’t have to worry about paying for college when they grow up.”

Atwal commutes to work each day and admits he may be in for a rough ride once his fellow carpoolers read about his win.

“They’re going to tease me for sure,” he joked. “I’ll probably have to buy all the gas now.”

Atwal purchased his lucky ticket at the International News stand on West Pender Street in Vancouver.

This Friday’s LOTTO MAX jackpot is $50 Million plus an estimated 29 MAXMILLION prizes of $1 Million each.

LOTTO MAX can be played at all BCLC retail locations. Tickets are sold until 6:00 p.m. (PDT) on draw day (Friday). Winning numbers can be found online at bclc.com following each draw. Please allow extra time for MAXMILLION draw results.
