State Furlough Day Closes Lottery Offices

PHOENIX, AZ–(Marketwire – July 19, 2010) –  Due to statewide government furloughs, the Arizona Lottery’s Phoenix and Tucson Offices will be closed on Friday, July 23. This closure requires our employees to take an unpaid furlough day.

Lottery retailers will still sell tickets and pay prizes on that day. Game drawings will also continue as scheduled. Check www.arizonalottery.com for winning numbers.

Prizes greater than $599 must be claimed at Lottery headquarters. We will re-open at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, July 26. We apologize for any inconvenience this closure may cause.

About the Arizona Lottery
The Arizona Lottery operates entirely from the revenue it generates through the sale of its products; it receives no General Fund dollars from the State. Proceeds from sales of Lottery tickets — nearly $3 million per week — fund a variety of state programs. Since July 1981, the Arizona Lottery has paid out over $3.9 billion in prizes to players, more than $2.3 billion in net profit to the state, and almost $500 million in commissions to retailers.
