PARK RIDGE, NJ–(Marketwire – August 17, 2010) –  Hertz Global Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: HTZ) (“Hertz“) announced that the Securities and Exchange Commission (the “SEC“), on August 16, 2010, declared effective Hertz’s registration statement on Form S-4 (the “S-4“) regarding its previously announced merger with Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc. (“Dollar Thrifty“). The registration statement includes a proxy statement/prospectus relating to the Dollar Thrifty stockholder vote required to approve the merger and covering shares of Hertz’s common stock to be issued to Dollar Thrifty stockholders under the terms of the merger agreement. In addition, Dollar Thrifty, today, began mailing the proxy statement/prospectus to its stockholders of record as of August 13, 2010, seeking approval of the adoption of the merger agreement at the September 16th special meeting of its stockholders. Hertz Chairman and CEO Mark P.
