ORINDA, CA–(Marketwire – June 29, 2010) – On Saturday, September 25th from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., the town of Orinda, CA will host the 6th Annual Classic Car Show. This free event, presented by Orinda Motors, continues to delight car fans of all ages and benefits the “Seniors Around Town” transportation service, an Orinda Association program.
In addition to American and European classic and modern exotic cars, this year’s event will feature a special exhibit — Orinda Thru the Years — coordinated by the Orinda Historical Society and Orinda Motors. This unique exhibit combines vintage and classic cars with historical materials in a museum-like setting.
Also, Whitney Haiste, a local Orinda resident and antique car expert, will be designing a once-in-a-lifetime exhibit of cars from the brass, nickel and art deco era’s highlighting vehicles from the turn of the century until WWII.
A definite plus these days, the event is free, but a donation of $10 will add the thrill of riding in one of the classic cars during the parade at the close of the show. Additional information about the show can be found at www.orindacarshow.com.
“The Annual Orinda Classic Car Show is special because of the range of great vehicles we get from the community and beyond,” says event founder and local resident, Chip Herman. “Each year the show gets better than before. There’s something for everyone, from classic cars in mint condition, daily drivers, hot rods and other custom cars, racecars and motorcycles, to even the occasional vintage Air Stream camper.”
Last year’s event featured more than 135 car entries and raised $27,000 for the “Seniors Around Town” program, the Educational Foundation of Orinda and other local charities. Each year the car show has grown in size and increased the charitable contribution to local Orinda organizations.
