Attention City, Assignment, News, Lifestyle, Entertainment, Philanthropy & Photo Editors:
Tonight, downtown Toronto will transform once again into a spectacular replication of the Venice Carnevale at the 17th Annual Venetian Ball with international celebrities and local socialites in attendance.
The spectacular event will feature Venetian cuisine, famous faces, beautiful masks, glamorous ball gowns and exquisite auction items. Entertainment will be provided by renowned impressionist and comic Rich Little, who notoriously delights every audience.
Each year, the Ball also features top-name global talent, capping off the evening’s program with a surprise mystery performer. In keeping with the mystery of Carnevale, the surprise performer, a multiple Grammy award-winning international superstar, will not be revealed until the evening of the gala.
Since its inception in 1994, the Venetian Ball has ascended to its current position as one of the top philanthropic events on the Toronto social scene. In 2009, the Venetian Ball raised $1,008,000 to support the important and unique work of Villa Charities, a family of organizations that has grown its mandate of providing care for seniors to include support for individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental illness. This mandate continues to emphasize and celebrate Italian culture, while welcoming all who need assistance.
