A Fusion of the Midwest’s Most Well-Respected Antiques and Modernism Shows
CHICAGO, IL–(Marketwire – September 27, 2010) – The Woman’s Board of the Winnetka Community House is proud to announce the debut of its new show, Antiques+ Modernism Winnetka, arriving in the fall of 2010. Discover your passion for design at this inaugural event which blends the best of the former Winnetka Antiques Show and Modernism Show on October 22-24 at the Winnetka Community House, 620 Lincoln Avenue, in Winnetka, Illinois.
The combined event will encompass periods of design ranging from the 17th century to the mid 20th century. Sixty of the country’s most esteemed dealers will showcase fine examples of American, British, French and Asian antiques, as well as pieces from the Arts and Crafts, Art Nouveau, Art Deco and Mid-Century design movements. The exhibition and sale will offer furniture, silver, ceramics, jewelry, garden antiques, lighting, rugs, textiles, fine and folk art, architectural artifacts and even more. Collectors, designers and hobbyists alike will delight in the extensive inventory of beautiful objects presented at the historic Winnetka Community House.
These outstanding and knowledgeable dealers from across North America and Europe will be on hand offering their first-rate collections at this exciting show. Dealers are selected on an invitational basis, to ensure the quality of items available for purchase. “By popular demand, Antiques + Modernism Winnetka will build upon the thrilling experience of searching for that hard-to-find treasure with Antique and Modernism dealers all under one roof,” notes show Co-Chair Pam Westin. “Our goal is to continue the tradition of presenting an exceptional show benefiting the Winnetka Community House. We will continue to offer educational and entertaining seminars for both the experienced and novice collector. We are proud to continue to bring the finest dealers from across the country to our community to offer something for everyone’s taste and budget,” adds show Co-Chair Dania Leemputte.

Before launching the first Antiques+Modernism Winnetka show, the Woman’s Board of the Winnetka Community House announces an exclusive discussion with design experts Alessandra Branca and Richard Wright. OPPOSITES ATTRACT: Alessandra Branca and Richard Wright discuss Classic to Modern in color, form and design for today’s interiors on Wednesday, October 6 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Winnetka Community House. Guests can indulge in cocktails and hors d’ouvres for the first half of the reception, followed by Branca and Wright’s discussion in Matz Hall for the second half.
