Get Ready for the Ride of Your Life! Horseshoe Resort to Become Top Leisure Destination in Ontario With Opening of Adventure Park

TORONTO, ONTARIO–(Marketwire – June 30, 2010) – Horseshoe Resort, Ontario’s Base camp for adventure and fun, is creating unique thrills this summer as they expand and open Horseshoe Adventure Park, on July 1st.

Located in the breathtaking Copeland Forest on the Horseshoe Resort grounds, the state-of-the art adventure park combines adrenaline-pumping attractions and some of Canada’s best action-packed rides with family-friendly fun. Extreme sport enthusiasts will be able to enjoy the exhilaration of zorbing in Ontario’s only zorbing ride, and Canada’s only fully operational zorbing park, or fly along Southern Ontario’s longest zip line. These will join another highly-anticipated popular attraction ? summer tubing.

“Horseshoe Adventure Park is the perfect destination for families and teens who want to combine fun with outdoor recreation,” says Christine Jamieson, Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations, Skyline Boutique Hotels and Resorts. “We offer attractions geared to everyone’s needs from adrenaline-junkies to moderate-thrill seekers, the Adventure Park has something for all ages to enjoy. There is nothing quite like Horseshoe Adventure Park in Ontario, and we are proud to be the first resort to offer many of these attractions together in one idyllic location.”

Want to try something extraordinary? Get rolled downhill in an inflatable ball as you watch the world whiz by from inside a orb made of transparent plastic. Zorbing is an adrenalin-boosting pastime that is a laugh-inducing, memorable experience. Another exhilarating feature of the Adventure Park is summer tubing. This family friendly attraction uses state-of-the-art Tube flex which when lightly misted with water provides a slippery surface for year-round tubing fun. For those seeking excitement above the ground, Horseshoe Resort has also built the longest zip line in Southern Ontario and the only Zip Flyer in Canada. The Zip Flyer propels riders safely harnessed in the air at speeds up to 45 kilometres per hour for gravity-defying adventure.

While children and teens can also enjoy the skateboard park, climbing wall, and downhill mountain biking, there are various seating areas for parents to observe and relax, as well as mini golf that offers spectacular views of the Georgian Valley. Many of the attractions have height requirements that vary, and to avoid disappointment, the requirements will be posted on their website, www.horseshoeresort.com. Payment for attractions can be purchased per attraction, or via an all day access pass. Package deals are also available that include on-site accommodations at Horseshoe Resort.

Also on site are beautifully manicured picnic areas, food and beverage outlets, change room facilities and washrooms, making the park an all-day event that can accommodate the varied needs of today’s families.

Horseshoe Resort has already earned the reputation as a family-fun destination with its 36 holes of championship level golf at the Highlands and Valley golf courses, 25 alpine runs and 34kms of some of the best Nordic Skiing in Ontario. Horseshoe also offers a wide range of activities including: superpipe, expanded terrain park, Yamaha Riding Adventures, Tree Top Trekking, Segway Adventures, and 35km of some of the best hiking trails in Canada. Horseshoe also offers a 101-room Inn as well as upscale and casual dining. Horseshoe Resort is investing $4.25-million dollars in creating the Adventure Park and resort improvements over this year and next.

The opening of Horseshoe Adventure Park this summer expands the allure of Horseshoe as the ultimate four-season tourist destination.
