“From a diverse group of Chevelles to one of the world’s fastest production cars and highly respected collections, we promise to feature some of the most exciting vehicles in the world,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of the Barrett-Jackson Auction Company. “Since we’ll be kicking off our year-long 40th anniversary celebration in the city of lights, we’re offering a broad range of vehicles that represent the evolution of the hobby. We stand true to our promise to offer something for everyone, so it’ll be a weekend to remember.”

Timing is Everything
In partnership with SPEED, Barrett-Jackson will be the center of attention as prominent cars, such as a Bugatti Veyron, SLR McLaren, Buick GSX Stage 1 and a Chevrolet 150 sedan are scheduled to take center stage during the three auction days. For the first time in Barrett-Jackson history, a timed lot number will be featured at 5:30 p.m. PDT each auction day.

“Just like we pioneered internet bidding and television coverage of auctions through SPEED, we’re going a step further with timed lot numbers,” explained Steve Davis, president of the Barrett-Jackson Auction Company. “This opportunity will guarantee viewers a chance to watch a featured car cross the block at a specific time every auction day. We’re continually working on new ways to enhance the experience for our viewers and we believe timed lot numbers will do just that.”

A black and white 1957 Chevrolet 150 sedan Black Widow tribute (Lot #7600), which was restored using the SEDCO Competition Guide, will start off the timed lot number group. The Chevy features a Fuel Injected 283cid V8 engine, which puts out 283 horsepower and is scheduled to appear on SPEED at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23.

A yellow and black 1970 Buick GSX Stage 1 coupe (Lot #3660) has undergone a full frame-up rotisserie restoration and features a correct, matching numbers powertrain. Documented as GSX Stage 1 car #331, it has a 455cid V8 mated to a three-speed automatic. The Buick GSX Stage 1 is scheduled to sell at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 24.

Known as the crown jewel of exotics, the 2008 Bugatti Veyron (Lot #6580) is number 80 out of 300 produced and was the fastest production car in the world in 2008. With only 11,800 miles on it, the rare high-performance car has a V16 developing 1,001 horsepower, 922 ft./lb. of torque, carbon-ceramic brakes and four Turbo chargers. The vehicle has a top speed of 253 mph and goes zero to 60 in 2.47 seconds. A car fit for any automotive enthusiast that has a need for speed, the Bugatti is sure to be a show-stopper during the auction. The Bugatti is scheduled to cross the block on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 5:30 p.m.

The SLR McLaren Roadster convertible (Lot #6580.1) has a Crystal Antimony Grey exterior that encases a Silver Arrow Red leather interior. The luxurious ride features a 5.5 liter, V8 with a black carbon trim package. The McLaren has less than 600 miles on it and will take the stage on Saturday, Sept. 25, following the Bugatti Veyron.

Most Coveted Exotics
Exotic sports cars, such as the Lamborghini Murcielago and a stable of Ferraris will turn heads as an assorted selection will be available for bidders to choose from. The Giallo Yellow on black 2002 Lamborghini Murcielago (Lot #669.2) has a 6.2 liter with a V12 developing 571 horsepower and 479 ft./lb. of torque and a six-speed manual transmission.
