DENVER, CO–(Marketwire – October 20, 2010) –  Spicy Pickle Franchising, Inc. (OTCBB: SPKL), operator of the fast casual Spicy Pickle® restaurant chain in the U. S. and BG Urban Café™ restaurant chain in Canada, today announced the opening of the third Spicy Pickle restaurant in Houston, TX by its local franchisee.

Mark Laramie, Spicy Pickle Franchising’s Chief Executive Officer, stated, “Our Houston franchisee has proven to be an excellent operator with extraordinary customer service. As we previously said, we are fortunate to have franchisees like this in our system. This franchisee already has two restaurants in the city and is working on a lease for a fourth location.”

The new Houston restaurant is near Rice University amidst office buildings, commercial and residential development. The location, at 3435 Kirby Drive, is near the intersection of Kirby Drive and Richmond Ave.

“This location is in the middle of our target demographic, serving residential, office and commercial complexes that are frequented by our typical customer. The restaurant will keep extended hours to accommodate its anticipated customer base. We firmly believe that this will be a very busy location. The hours of operation are 11 AM to 10 PM Monday to Saturday and 11 AM to 8 PM on Sunday. The phone number is 713-527-7950 and the fax is 713-527-8580. This restaurant will also serve beer and wine to accommodate an early evening and dinner business,” Mr. Laramie concluded.

Mathew Forastiere, Operations & Marketing Director for our franchisee, stated, “My family and I are excited to continue our development of Spicy Pickle Restaurants in Houston. The opening of our new restaurant marks our third location in 18 months of operation. The Houston community continues to be wonderful to us. We could not be happier or more appreciative of the warm reception and dedicated following of our customers. Look for our next location opening in 2011.”
