DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES–(Marketwire – September 22, 2010) – In support of October Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Raffles Amrita Spa at Raffles Dubai will be hosting a “Pink Day” on Friday, 22nd October. 100% of the proceeds from all manicures and pedicures, Trendz Ladies & Gents Salon offerings, and luxurious spa treatments will be donated to the Safe and Sound Breast Cancer Awareness Programme. In support of this initiative, all colleagues will be donating their pay that day to ensure that 100% of the proceeds go directly to the charity. Pink cupcakes, mocktails, t-shirts, hats and breast cancer informational brochures will be given to everyone supporting “Pink Day”.
In addition, Raffles Dubai will be giving away a luxurious “Raffles Goes Pink” package to a breast cancer survivor nominated by a friend or family member. The exquisite package includes one night in a majestic 150 sqm Diplomatic Suite complete with 24 hour butler service, choice of two 60 minute spa treatments and Raffles Roast Friday brunch for two. Nominations will be accepted up until 21st October by telling the inspirational story of a breast cancer survivor via email at [email protected]. Winner will be announced at the Safe and Sound Breast Cancer Programme walk on Friday, 29th October. There will also be a formal cheque presentation to the Safe and Sound Programme, of all proceeds raised by Raffles Dubai.
Launched in 1997, Safe and Sound Breast Cancer Awareness Programme is one of the region’s largest, most comprehensive breast cancer awareness campaigns. The programme offers year round educational seminars, support groups, free mammograms and pays the treatment bills of women who cannot otherwise afford it. The main source of revenue is the annual breast cancer walk each October.
In addition to donating treatments from the “Pink Day”, colleagues of Raffles Dubai will be participating in the annual walk on 29th October.
