Alt-Weekly Rolls Out New, Glossy Cover for Oct. 7 Edition

HOUSTON, TX–(Marketwire – October 7, 2010) –  Today, Houston Press, the city’s only major news and entertainment weekly, rolled out new glossy covers for its weekly print publication. The new covers will improve the look and feel of the paper, giving a more vibrant medium for the cover art and a more polished final product for readers.

“The new heavy-stock, glossy covers give our design team and photographers much more creative freedom to produce eye-catching graphics and photographs, which will give our readers a much better experience,” said Houston Press publisher Stuart Folb. “These new covers will give our award-winning editorial staff a fresh opportunity to go out and keep producing the best news product in south Texas.”

From news about NASA to local politics, food and music, as well as the people behind it, Houston Press is tapped in to the pulse of the city. The cover story follows the story of a NASA employee who questioned the wisdom of animal experimentation and got fired because of it.
