CHAPEL HILL, NC–(Marketwire – December 8, 2010) – Straight from its success with University of North Carolina Tar Heel football, Hardee’s® across North Carolina are continuing the ‘Tar Heel Tender Tuesdays’ for Carolina basketball fans with an even better deal.

Starting immediately, Hardee’s will celebrate Tar Heels basketball each Tuesday for the remainder of the 2010-11 regular basketball season with its 3-piece, Hand-Breaded Chicken Tenders™ combo at a significantly reduced price of $3.99.

Customers will be able to take advantage of this special Chicken Tenders combo pricing on Tuesdays at all 230 Hardee’s locations across North Carolina, regardless of whether the Tar Heels win or lose.

“Our ‘Tar Heel Tender Tuesdays’ proved to be so popular with football wins, we decided to expand it right on through the Tar Heels basketball season,” said Jerry Allsbrook, chief marketing officer for Boddie-Noell Enterprises, the largest Hardee’s franchisee both in North Carolina and the U.S.

Like Hardee’s, Boddie-Noell was founded in North Carolina and has a long-time relationship of support with both the University and Tar Heel sports.

Hardee’s new Chicken Tenders are fresh, all white-meat chicken tenders, hand-dipped in eggs and buttermilk and lightly breaded. Introduced to the Hardee’s menu in June, the Chicken Tenders have been an enormous hit throughout the nation. The Tenders originally came to Hardee’s from Boddie-Noell where they were created in the company’s own North Carolina test kitchens. The 3-piece, Hand-Breaded Chicken Tenders combo includes Natural Cut French Fries and beverage.

The promotion will continue through March 8, following the regular season final game on March 5 in Chapel Hill against Duke.
