Courtyard by Marriott Gurgaon and Gallery Ragini Present the Red Dot Exhibition as Part of This Initiative

NEW DELHI, INDIA–(Marketwire – July 30, 2010) –  Courtyard by Marriott, Gurgaon hotel in association with Gallery Ragini is proud to announce the Red Dot Exhibition to showcase the talent of some of the rising stars of Indian art. The artwork will be exhibited in the hotel lobby and at the all day dining restaurant MoMo Café — a stand out among Gurgaon restaurants, which truly lives up to its name ‘Modern Living Modern Dining.’ The artwork includes paintings spanning various human emotions and the sociological balance in our society. The ongoing exhibition featuring young, upcoming artists like Amit Kumar Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma, Ramesh Kumar, Anoop Kamath, Suchit Sahni, Alka Raghuvanshi and Kishore Das will express the play and the flirtation in the minds of the artists along with the influence that their surroundings have on them.

In the art world a ‘Red Dot’ signifies a work of art which has been sold. Building upon this idea, every piece of art in this unique collection has been developed with the idea that it should instantly appeal to every viewer. Each painting is the work of a young contemporary Indian artist who has made that special piece with the thought that all art lovers should instantly buy into its idea and aesthetic appeal. Also building upon the ‘Red Dot’ theme, all paintings in the collection employ the use of the color red in its various hues.

Speaking about the exhibition, Mr. Matthew Cooper, General Manager, Courtyard by Marriott, Gurgaon said, “Everything we do at The Courtyard by Marriott, Gurgaon represents a harmonious blend of hospitality and art. Our chefs are truly artistes who showcase their talent in the restaurants by using the kitchen as the studio, the ingredients as the palette and the plate as the canvas. MoMo Café, which represents a unique blend of casual dining with interactive open kitchens, is the perfect platform to display this artwork whose beauty can be savored by the diners as they enjoy their meals.”

The Courtyard by Marriott, Gurgaon is proud to support and value talent from various artistic disciplines. The hotel near New Delhi Airport is new, young and vibrant and therefore also strongly believes in extending its support to gifted young artistes who just require the correct platform to bring forth their talents. The Red Dot Exhibition is one of the initiatives in this regard and the property is planning several similar exhibitions in the coming months in association with Bank on Art.
