IRVINE, CA–(Marketwire – October 5, 2010) –  Trycera Financial, Inc. (OTCBB: TRYF), a diversified financial services company, presented a workshop on how apartment residents can build a good credit history with on-time rental payments, just as homeowners do with mortgage payments. The Financial Empowerment and Wealth-building workshop was a featured event at the National Alliance of Resident Services in Affordable and Assisted Housing (NAR-SAAH) Annual Capacity Building Conference, sponsored in partnership with the Detroit Housing Commission.

NAR-SAAH provides technical assistance to Resident Services providers and members of Resident Councils to enhance the quality of life for individuals and families living in public and assisted rental housing communities. NAR-SAAH promotes programs that are comprehensive, culturally competent and responsive to residents’ needs. The conference was attended by over 500 participants from 67 cities including New York, Huntsville, Baltimore, Nashville, Boston, and San Francisco.

Trycera Credit Services President, Michael G. Nathans, presented how FDIC-insured network branded prepaid cards could be used to build both a good credit history and a score without incurring debt, by paying traditional bills on-time that are not reported to nationwide consumer credit reporting agencies. “Alternative credit references and payment histories for rent, utilities, cell phone, insurance and other common bills may be attached by any consumer to any application that requires a credit check under Federal law — the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA),” explained Mr. Nathans. “All creditors as that term is defined by ECOA, must consider alternative credit references when presented by an applicant or risk regulatory fines plus the applicant’s actual damages and legal fees. Working together with NAR-SAAH, elected officials and bank regulators, we endeavor to educate apartment residents on how to build a good credit history without debt and how to build wealth by avoiding the high fees often associated with check cashing, minimum balance requirements, overdrafts, late paying bills and short-term credit,” he said.
